The Pilates Studios We Return To in Barcelona
Reformer, mat and barre — the Barcelona studios worth building a week around.

Pilates in Barcelona has quietly become a discipline rather than a trend. Reformer studios have opened across Eixample, Gràcia and Sarrià, and the difference between them is rarely the equipment — it is the teaching, the size of the class and whether the room lets you concentrate.
These are the studios we come back to. We have kept the list short on purpose, and we have left out anything we could not stand behind.
Reformer, done properly
If you are new to the reformer, look for smaller groups and teachers who correct you by name. Most studios below offer both group and private formats — book privately first if your body is asking for it.
Heltia
EixampleA studio on Pau Claris combining reformer pilates with functional and therapeutic movement — useful if you are training around an injury rather than around a schedule.
PILAT3S
GràciaA dedicated reformer studio in Gràcia. Straightforward, well-run classes in a neighbourhood that makes it easy to stay for coffee afterwards.
Salut al Quadrat
EixampleA reformer studio near Plaça Letamendi, within walking distance of Enric Granados — one of the easiest places in the city to combine movement with a slow morning.
NEXES Pilates
Sarrià–Sant GervasiReformer and Cadillac work, barre pilates and yoga in Tres Torres. A calmer, more residential part of the city, and a quieter class culture to match.
Mat, barre and the in-between
SimplyBe Pilates
Barcelona centreGroup mat, reformer, barre and stretch classes. A good place to begin if you would rather learn the vocabulary on the mat before stepping onto a machine.
TheClassBCN
BarcelonaPilates and hypopressive classes with a focus on women's bodies — including postnatal and core rehabilitation work.
Repeat
BarcelonaKnown for its signature reformer series. Suited to those who want progression across a block of classes rather than a one-off session.
How to choose
Ask three questions before you commit to a pack: how many reformers are in the room, who is teaching on the day you can actually attend, and whether the studio offers an introductory private. The answers tell you more than any timetable.
And consider the geography. A studio you can walk to is a studio you will use. If you live between Gràcia and Eixample, you are within reach of most of this list.
Movement is one of the three threads that run through everything Areté does, alongside life design and culture. Our mornings in Barcelona usually begin exactly here.
Areté gathers women in Barcelona around movement, life design and culture. Our experiences are intentionally limited, and details are shared first with the Private List. You can also see upcoming experiences or read about Areté Society.
